Maroochydore - Brisbane - Sydney

Left Brisbane and looking over Stradbroke Island Surfers Paradise...Hawkesbury River

Looking over Sydney Sydney CBD with the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House

Maroochydore boogieboard

Instead of trying to surf the little waves I had more fun with the boogieboard. Easier to handle...

Maroochydore beach

Staying with local friends is great. Especially when they take you out for some surflesson. The first day was not to bad, waves were good. But the 2 days after weren't that great. Waves "looked" big when I was in the water and very choppy. But some nice shots from my second day..
Keep on paddling...
Having a little rest...
Looking for the wave, is it the right one...
Waves look bigger when your are just in front of it...very nice though And off I am, trying to stand up...

Gary's surfboat

Skipper Gary bought an old surfboat from the SLSC and restorated it in the old wooden style. He also put an old little motor in and he took us cruising on the ocean around Mooloolaba up to Alexandra Headlands and thru the waters in Mooloolaba.

And there we go, plop plop plop... Skipper Gary...
An eagle...
Neighbour Anne and me on the left...having fun and enjoying the weather, the water, the boat just everything... All together: Skipper Gary, Jeannie, Werner, Anne and me...
Thru the waters of Mooloolaba...
Steve Irvins House...(Crocodile hunter)

Catching up with friends in Maroochydore

Stradbroke Island

The ferry to Stradbroke Island starts at Cleveland. Withe the Stradbroke Flyer it just takes about 20 minutes.
Leaving Cleveland
Arriving at Stradbroke Island. From there an half hour bus ride to Lookout Point (other side of the Island).

View from Lookout Point.

Brisbane to Victoria point

Woke up earliy in the hostel and not only from the bunkbed which had a soft mattress. At 6.30 they started hammering underneath the room. Not a nice wake-up call so went to the reception. But hey I was allready awake so up for a little run along the waterfront of Brisbane to Southbank. Sunny and some rain drizzling but nice warm.

After I checked out at my first hostel on this trip in Australia I went downtown for some shopping and took the train to Cleveland where my friends would pick me up from the station to go to their place in Victoria point.

Sydney Domestic Airport

Today an easy day, had to catch the flight at 8pm at Sydney Domestic Airport. I arrived 1,5hr earlier and they put me on the first coming plane so I didn't had to wait at all and arrived 1,5 hr earlier in Brisbane.

Sydney Manly - The Spit

the Manly to Spit scenic walk is about 9km thru forest and along the waters of Sydney. Lots of flora and faunas to be seen here, even on a bit rainy day. A great walk with views to Manly and all the way to the city of Sydney.

Sydney - 'the Rocks'

Tara organized a fundraiser for the Australian Orangutan Project. We had a pubcrawl in "the Rocks" Sydney starting at 14.00 - 22.00. In everybar we had about an hour as well to get into the next pub. Our dinner was in the pub 'the Australian" with great pizza's.
